New In Medicare 2012: The Annual Medicare Wellness Visit
There are some actions you can take to stay healthy. Medicare offers a number of preventive services to help keep you healthy and discover diseases early when the chances for a successful treatment are the highest.
When your goal is to achieve better health, better health care, and lower your medical costs, you should take advantage of the
new Medicare benefit offered free of charge for persons on Medicare: The Yearly Wellness visit. This is a chance for you and your doctor or other health care provider to review your health and talk about what you can do to stay as healthy as you can.
To help you figure out what can help you stay well, your doctor may ask you to answer a short questionnaire called a Health Risk
Assessment, as part of the visit.
